Llanelian Community Hall was originally a mobile classroom from Llandrillo college which was purchased for £100 and acquired by our then Councillor Ena Wynne.
It was positioned by the playing field Easter 1996 by locals including Tegwyn Hughes (builder), Glyn and Eifion.
A village committee was formed and for the next 28 years this hall became the focal point for many gatherings.
Two years ago it was identified that the hall was deteriorating with the floor sinking and external walls crumbling. Thanks to funders, The National Lottery, Gwynt y Mor and Solar Parc, the committee raised enough money to replace the old facility with a brand new purpose built community hall.
Designed by our very own local architect Gethin Jones (from Saer) who was there when the classroom arrived aged around 11, we now have a wonderful new modern hall with disabled facilities, excellent security, commercial standard kitchen, solar panels with storage and much more.
We hope to hold many events in the future and welcome local people and from further afield to hire the hall for a variety of purposes .
With thanks to the committee and new directors who have worked so hard to make this happen and to so many individuals who have given hours of their own time dealing with admin, painting, mixing cement, laying slabs, sourcing products and so much more.
A real community project, built by the community for the community.
